Our mission

The Open Books Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing scholarship assistance to outstanding youth who would otherwise be unable to attend a life-changing, educational summer enrichment program.

who we are

We are education advocates and parents of former Great Books Summer Program campers. When we saw the impact a summer enrichment program like GBSP had on our children's lives and minds, we decided to work to open up such programs to other young people. 

what we do

Every year, groundbreaking summer educational programs receive more requests for financial aid than they can meet. Unfortunately, some of the most deserving students are turned away. 

Who gets left out? Outstanding young people from diverse families in inner cities, suburbs, small and rural towns, and Native American reservations across the country.
